Rose City Comic Con is back at the Oregon Convention Center and the masks are more popular than ever.

After being canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Portland event is back with new precautions. All participants must wear masks and provide proof that they have been vaccinated or tested negative for the virus.

Hygiene posts have been added to the convention floor, and booths and other attractions have been set up to encourage distancing.

The featured guest of the convention is Carl Weather, known for appearing in “Rocky”, “Predator”, “Happy Gilmore” and most recently “The Mandalorian”.

Participants can expect to see comedians; science fiction, anime and fantasy artists; cosplayers; video players; and celebrities such as Adam Savage of MythBusters, Antony Star of The Boys and Billy Boyd of Lord of the Rings. A full list of famous guests is available on the convention website.

The comic book convention – one of the largest in the Northwest – has grown steadily since its inception in 2012, when it drew 4,100 attendees. An estimated 70,000 people attended the convention in 2019.

Online ticket prices range from $ 55 for Saturday to $ 100 for the full three-day event. Tickets purchased in person are more expensive. All ticket prices can be viewed on the convention website.
