President Biden again defended the US withdrawal from Afghanistan on Saturday, arguing that the vast majority of Americans wanted out – and asking “How else could you get out?”
Biden was speaking to reporters in Shanksville, Pa. On the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and asked if the withdrawal of U.S. forces in late August marked a new phase for the country.

On Saturday, Biden suggested that the Americans were in favor of withdrawing from Afghanistan, where the United States invaded in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks to neutralize al-Qaeda and bin Laden, and cited a poll that found 70% of Americans thought it was time to go.
