The grave of the late rapper Pop Smoke was found badly damaged on Saturday morning.
Sources told TMZ they found the grave vandalized during a visit to Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.
Photos of the destruction indicate that the slain rapper’s gravestone was broken, and scratches indicated that vandals may have attempted to remove his coffin.

Pop Smoke’s coffin was buried in a mausoleum surrounded by several other coffins
One exterior wall featured a gravestone for the musician (born Bashar Barakah Jackson), but photos taken by an eyewitness suggest vandals may have removed the stone.
The top corners had been shattered and shards were strewn on the ground just below as the remaining piece of stone was pressed against the grave.
The floor in front of the stone was also littered with flowers, which may have been left before the vandalism, and what one witness said appeared to be burnt marijuana joints.

Desecrated: The stone outside the tomb of Pop Smoke’s mausoleum appears to have been shattered and leaned against the wall, indicating vandals entered the tomb
Photos of the vandalized grave appear to show scratches on the cobblestones, indicating that something heavy may have been dragged out of the grave.
It is not known whether the intruders were able to get Pop Smoke’s coffin out, but the source who saw the damage took a photo of a long rectangular object leaning against a stone wall in front of the mausoleum.
The eyewitness described the object as concrete and suggested that it may have been a separator, placed either on Pop Smoke’s coffin to separate it from the coffin above his grave, or on the coast.
The person who discovered the damage reportedly alerted security, who were apparently unaware of the vandalism.

Hasty Work: The witness returned to the location seen a few hours later and found it blocked with warning tape. Some of the debris had been cleaned up
The source who discovered the vandalism added that they returned to the site a few hours later and found that the damaged gravestone had been replaced with a blank slab while warning tape was placed around the zoned.
Although some of the stone shards had been cleaned up, the area still appeared to be in a state of disarray.
Pop Smoke, who was born in Brooklyn, was a rising star at the time of his tragic death early last year.
He had a popular series of singles as of 2019 and he released two acclaimed mixtapes, Meet The Woo and Meet The Woo 2.
The latter, released on February 7, 2020, debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 album chart, making its first top 10.
But the rapper would be shot less than two weeks after the success.

Pop Smoke had rented a house in Hollywood Hills that belonged to former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp and her husband.
In the wee hours of February 19, 2020, four men in hoodies broke into the house.
The rapper was later found by police after being shot several times, and he was pronounced dead hours after being rushed to hospital.
LAPD detectives initially believed the murder was gang-related, but later determined it was a robbery turned violent, as Pop Smoke had shared posts on Instagram in the days leading up to the murder that showed expensive gifts he had recently received.
The home address was also clearly visible in at least one of the messages.
Violent ending: In May, an LAPD detective testified that a woman with Pop Smoke at the time of the robbery said he was in the shower when the gunmen confronted him. He ran away, only to be repeatedly hit and kicked while on the ground
In May this year, LAPD Detective Christian Carrasco said during the murder trial that the rapper was taking a shower as the intruders entered through a second story window, according to the New York Daily News.
Detective testified that a woman who was in the house with Pop Smoke heard a noise that sounded like a struggle coming from the shower, before seeing him running out of the bathroom.
She then heard a gunshot and saw it fall to the ground.
The detective said the woman claimed to have heard two more gunshots and seen intruders kick the rapper while he was on the ground.
She also claimed that they took her “big gold watch”.
After his murder, Pop Smoke’s first album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon was released in July 2020 and topped the Billboard 200 charts.
It was followed by a successful second album, Faith, in July of this year. It was also a number one hit, although both albums received mixed reviews.
