No work means no work.

Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville, NY, will temporarily stop giving birth, after maternity workers quit rather than being forced to be vaccinated against COVID-19, according to reports.

Six staff from the unit have resigned for the vaccine tenure, and seven others are undecided about whether to get the vaccine, county health system CEO Gerald Cayer said on Friday, according to WWNY.

“If we can suspend the service and now focus on recruiting vaccinated nurses, we can re-engage in childbirth here in Lewis County,” he said, according to the station.

Cayer said 27% of hospital workers – 165 employees – had not received the blow.

The state ordered all healthcare workers in New York City to get their first shot before September 27, or face layoffs. After former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s announcement in August, 30 hospital workers resigned, Cayer said.
