The Las Vegas Raiders have filed a formal complaint with the league for “all the dirty blows” wide receiver Hunter Renfrow absorbed in their insane Monday night win over the Baltimore Ravens, according to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur.
The Raiders – who beat the Ravens 33-27 in overtime at Allegiant Stadium on Monday – reportedly sent the league a video compilation of several games in which Renfrow was tagged either after play or well away from the ball.
A piece that surfaced on Twitter showed a perfect example of what the Raiders are complaining about. In the clip, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey pierced Renfrow and sent him to the ground away from the action while Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was still in the pocket. No penalty was pronounced.
Humphrey said on Wednesday he apologized to Renfrow for the coin and believed Carr was out of his pocket when he punched him.
“I hit Hunter Renfrow a bit after the play,” Humphrey said, via ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. “I thought Derek Carr was out of pocket. I apologized to him in the field. It was a piece that I wish I could resume.
Renfrow finished with six catches for 70 yards in Monday’s win. The 25-year-old finished with a career-high 656 yards and two touchdowns last season, his second in the league, in 56 receptions.
“It will be interesting to see what [the complaint]”said Carr, via Tafur. ” That does not bother [Renfrow] at all, he doesn’t care.
Renfrow wasn’t complaining about Wednesday’s hits, either.
“I didn’t notice anything different from other games,” he said, via Tafur.
