In this week’s episode of IGN’s PlayStation Podcast, Podcast Beyond !, host Jonathon Dornbush is joined by Brian Altano, Lucy O’Brien and Matt Purslow to discuss all the latest PS5 updates, PS5 games and Moreover.
First, we discuss the release of the latest PS5 console exclusive, Deathloop, as we move on to Matt Deathloop’s review and his general thoughts on Deathloop’s gameplay, world, and unique multiplayer. Jonathon, Lucy, and Brian also offer their thoughts on Deathloop, looking at what we’ve enjoyed so far in our early hours of play and how it sits alongside other Arkane games.
Additionally, we move on to the news around the new PS5 update and what this PlayStation 5 firmware means for both UI expansion and PS5 SSD expansion. We dissect a bit how this opens the door for new third-party PS5 hard drives, the changes to the display of PS5 trophies, and our hopes for other updates we might see on the PS5 UI.
We also briefly touch on some new updates on Insomniac’s Marvel’s Wolverine, the new Marvel game from the developers of Spider-Man, its mature tone, and our early expectations of it. Plus, we chat about some of the other PS5 games we’ve played, Matt shares a wonderful memory card story, and more.
