USC head coach sacked Helton clay this week, citing a need for change in one of college football’s most famous programs. Immediate names surfacing on USC’s list of potential targets included Urban Meyer, Penn State James franklin and that of Cincinnati Luc Fickell, all successful coaches who have indirect questions regarding their level of interest.
With all of the major coaching research in college football, speculation leads to wild rumors with few substantiated reports of specific events. trojan sports director Mike Bohn said USC knows exactly what it is looking for in the next leader of its program.
“Leadership, great integrity, character, the ability to connect with young men,” Bohn said. “As you all know, our vision is to be the most student-athlete-focused program in the country, so we want someone who understands the connectivity with the young men who are a part of this program and the ability to recruit and bring high quality, people of character to USC and again to pursue the championships.
