Bad Advice on Covid Vaccine Boosters

[ad_1]

On Friday, a Food and Drug Administration advisory group voted to recommend Pfizer Covid-19 booster injections for Americans over 65 and those at “high risk”, but not for the general population. What do these public health experts have against individuals who make up their own minds about their own health?

The evidence for boosters is strong and growing. The most convincing comes from Israel, which began administering third doses in July after infections and hospitalizations began to rise among those vaccinated this winter. An Israeli study found that the protection of the Pfizer vaccine against symptomatic infections fell to 40% from mid-June to July, compared to more than 95% from January to April. Those who were vaccinated in January only had 16% protection compared to 79% for those who were vaccinated in April.
