Tonight, one of college football’s greatest traditions will make a triumphant return. Penn State No.10 hosts No.22 Auburn at Beaver Stadium for a White Out game. The stadium is fully booked for this prime-time game, which means plenty of fans will be in the stands cheering on their team. Among those in attendance will be Penn State legend Saquon Barkley.
The former Nittany Lions player and current New York Giants running back has returned to Happy Valley, where he has become a household name. He played three seasons for Penn State and played many highlights. While playing for the Nittany Lions, Barkley set the school record for career rushing touchdowns (43) and total rushing touchdowns (53). His exceptional college career saw him selected as No. 2 in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Barkley was busy returning to his alma mater and is excited for the White Out match. Take a look at everything he did during his return to campus, which began with his appearance as guest coach during College GameDay.
Barkley arrived at Penn State in style, via a private jet, which is often used by GameDay pickers. Barkley ran for 57 yards in the Giants’ 30-29 loss to the Washington football team on Thursday. Despite the loss, Barkley seemed thrilled to be back at State College and put on his analyst cap to pick this week’s college football games.

Barkley made picks for various clashes, but one of his selections was a no-brainer. He said he had no way of choosing Auburn over his Nittany Lions. Most of the College GameDay team agreed with the 24-year-old’s back, with David Pollack the only analyst who picked Auburn.

While making his pick, chants of “Saquon Barkley” echoed through the crowd, and the running back had a front row spot for Lee Corso’s headgear choice of the day.

Barkley, however, did not return to Happy Valley just to pick games, he will be sidelined for the game. It is safe to say that the public were delighted to know that No.26 will be part of the Saturday night crowd that will play their first White Out game since 2019.

Even though he was a football player for Penn State attending their football game tonight, Barkley receives love from the school’s other athletic programs. Men and the girls hockey team shouted it on social media, and he was wearing a new pre-game hockey jersey (which is white, of course). He also met up with ESPN’s secondary reporter Holly Rowe and hugged fans in the stands as he prepares to watch his former team battle Auburn.
