Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley admitted on Saturday that he almost challenged his team’s unlikely interception in the team’s win over Nebraska.

Sooners cornerback DJ Graham made a one-handed interception in a fourth quarter, landing on the 3-yard line with 8:16 left in the game, giving the Sooners a poor position on the field to start their next possession.

Riley said he thinks Graham may have juggled the ball and considered a challenge.

“I might have been the first coach in history to challenge a game we had an interception in. I was hoping it would have come down,” he said via ESPN.

“I thought it was juggling a bit. I might have challenged that.”

The capture has been dubbed the “game of the millennium” on Twitter.

The Sooners scored three goals and came out of that possession, then returned the ball to the Cornhuskers, who scored to reduce the lead to 23-16. It was the final score of the Sooners victory.

OU’s Spencer Rattler finished 24 for 34 with 214 passing yards and one touchdown pass. He also rushed for a score. Eric Gray led the Sooners with 84 rushing yards.

Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez was 19 for 25 with 289 passing yards and one touchdown pass.
