As authorities continue to search for Brian Laundrie in Florida and work to confirm that a body found in Wyoming on Sunday is Gabby Petito’s, Internet detectives have reported footage of Laundrie reading a book to missing women.
In a video titled “VAN LIFE | Beginning Our van Life Journey,” posted to Petito Nomadic Statik’s YouTube channel on August 19, Laundrie is briefly seen reading the book. The detail has been commented on, among others, by YouTube users and TikTok user @ alyssaest93. “So many people have said this information needs to be passed on to the police,” she said in a video she posted to the platform a few days ago, explaining why she thinks the book is related to the case. She called the images “disturbing”.
However, some other TikTok users were skeptical of the connection, saying the video was coming.

Authorities told a news conference on Sunday that human remains were found in the Spread Creek area of Wyoming “in accordance” with Petito, but a full forensic identification has yet to be found. carried out.
“Full forensic identification has not been done to 100% confirm that we have found Gabby, but her family has been notified,” FBI Surveillance Special Agent Charles Jones said on Sunday, according to the Associated Press. “It is an incredibly difficult time for (Petito) family and friends.”
Petito, 22, is said to have disappeared as he headed to the park with Laundrie in August. She was first reported missing on September 11 after returning alone to their shared home in North Port on September 1.
She was reportedly last seen on August 24 at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Salt Lake City. The couple were on their way from Utah’s Arches National Park to Grand Teton. She was last in contact with her family on August 25 via FaceTime.
Authorities continue to search for laundry in Florida, focusing their efforts on the vast Carlton Preserve, an alligator infested area, as Petito’s family say he hasn’t gone missing but is “in hiding.”
“Brian hasn’t disappeared, he’s hiding. Gabby is missing,” the statement from Richard Stafford’s law firm tweeted by ABC News.
He was reported missing on Friday, and police believe he could survive in the swamps for months, if he is there.
Earlier in the week, the City of Moab Police Department released a body camera video filmed after an altercation between Petito and Laundrie which showed Petito visibly upset and Laundrie with scratches on his face. She was seen speaking to an officer about her sanity and how the altercation started after he locked her out of the van.
In a September 15 press release, the North Port Police Department named Laundrie a person of interest in Petito’s disappearance, although he is not wanted for a felony.
