Rita Wilson sent the internet into a frenzy when the 2021 Emmys kick off.
The actress joined host Cedric the Entertainer, LL Cool J, Tracee Ellis Ross and “Ted Lasso” star Brendan Hunt in a tribute to Biz Markie. The stars revisited the late rapper’s “Just a Friend”.
“Who knew, who knew they had so much television? Wilson rapped, before sending a shout out to “Sesame Street”.
“So many characters that I love. Actually that’s Bert and Ernie’s business, who cares,” she added, waving her hands like she didn’t care.

One Twitter user said, “That’s the way rap sounded back then.” Another social media user said Wilson was “killing him”.
“Biggest reveal of the night? That @RitaWilson can RAP! Damn, gurrrl! #Emmys,” said another.
Another user wrote, “I think Rita Wilson is a better rapper than her son,” sending a thinly veiled shot at her son, Chet Hanks.

Wilson has shown off her rapping skills in the past by posting an Instagram video of herself rapping on Naughty By Nature’s “Hip Hop Hooray”.
