Two people have died after a man apparently jumped from a Yonkers, New York, apartment building on Monday in apparent suicide and struck another man below, police said.
A 25-year-old man jumped from the roof and fell 12 stories onto the roof of a parking lot, where he struck a 61-year-old man, police said, citing preliminary information.
Both men died instantly, police said. Their identities were not immediately disclosed.
“The incident appears to be a tragic situation, and the investigation is ongoing,” police said in A declaration. “The Town of Yonkers and the Yonkers Police Department extend their sincere condolences to the families of the two men.”
In April in San Diego, a 29-year-old woman was killed after a man jumped out of a parking lot and hit her, officials said. The man is also deceased.
