A Texan couple, parents of one baby, were enjoying a rare night out with friends at the Hang Time bar and restaurant when asked to leave for breaking the restaurant’s “no mask” policy.
According to a CBSN Dallas report, Natalie Wester and her husband had good reason to wear masks – the fully vaccinated couple want to protect their immunocompromised four-month-old son. The infant has cystic fibrosis, KTVT reported.
According to some sources, Tom, the owner of the Hang Time Bar & Grill, considers on the other hand that wearing a mask “is part of the dress code” and explains that as a private company, “he has every right to refuse the service to those who want to wear their mask.
The restaurant owner confirmed that when the couple visited their establishment on September 10, they were asked to leave because they had not checked their face coverings at the door, according to a New York Post report. He said he didn’t know about their immunocompromised son, but told KTVT the rules apply to all clients.
Wester detailed the incident in a lengthy Facebook post.
