Sony really wants to use their adjacent Spider-Man characters to kick off a big comic book universe, while Spidey himself – currently played by Tom Holland – roams the Marvel Cinematic Universe without them. Sony had this kind of idea before, but it wasn’t until the box office boffo of “Venom” that they realized that maybe they could make it happen. Now they have “Morbius” on the way and are currently working on a movie “Kraven: The Hunter”.
And, of course, they have “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”. This sequel brings back Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, and Woody Harrelson, who appeared in the first film. Once again, Hardy’s Eddie Brock will share the screen with Venom, his symbiote alien counterpart. Here’s the official synopsis:

As mentioned above, Andy Serkis is in the director’s chair this time around, replacing “Venom” director Ruben Fleischer, and it’s probably for the best. I was very skeptical of “Venom” prior to its release, but I have to admit it finally convinced me. I think the movie has tons of issues, and I really wasn’t that much into the story. But damn it, it was really a lot of fun watching Tom Hardy go crazy in the lead role. It’s clear that Hardy got the chance to do pretty much whatever he wanted in the first movie, and that should continue in this sequel since Hardy gets a “story through” credit this time around. Add in Woody Harrelson and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” might end up being even more fun than the first movie.
