Chris Rock says he has COVID-19 despite Johnson & Johnson vaccination

AComedian and comedian Chris Rock revealed on Sunday that he has COVID-19, urging others to get vaccinated so they don’t catch the disease.

Rock, 56, posted the news on Twitter and said the rest should get vaccinated, adding: “You don’t want that.” The news comes four months after Rock said he had been vaccinated against the virus.

“Hey guys, I just found out I have COVID, trust me you don’t want that,” Rock said. “To get vaccinated.”

The actor previously told The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that he was vaccinated against COVID-19. Rock said at the time that he received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, jokingly calling it “vaccine food stamps.”

“You know, I skipped the line,” Rock told Fallon. “I didn’t care. I used my fame, Jimmy. I was like, ‘Back off, Betty White. Back off, folks.'”

Rock is not the first person to contract COVID-19 despite receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Seven New York Yankees staff tested positive for COVID-19 on May 13 after being vaccinated against the virus, all of whom received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended suspending the Johnson & Johnson vaccine on April 13 after six women between the ages of 18 and 48 developed a blood clot between six and 13 days after receiving the vaccine.

The break was lifted 10 days later, on April 23.
