Justice Department prepares to challenge American-JetBlue alliance

WASHINGTON — The Department of Justice is preparing to file a lawsuit against American Airlines Group Inc.’s partnership with JetBlue Airways Corp. for antitrust reasons, according to people familiar with the matter.

The lawsuit, which could come as early as Tuesday, is expected to argue that the recently forged alliance threatens competition and higher tariffs, the people said.
