New York restaurant Carmine’s releases new surveillance video of the attack

Black Lives Matter protesters marched on famous New York restaurant Carmine on Monday evening – as the owner posted new footage of the savage attack on his staff which he said had nothing to do with racism.

“Cancel Carmine’s!” chanted the large group, many of whom wore “Black Lives Matter New York” t-shirts, as they descended on Monday night at the famous Upper West Side restaurant.

“Come on blacks, you saw what they did to us,” shouted a leader outside the restaurant where three black tourists from Texas were arrested on Thursday for assaulting an Asian American hostess who refused. to allow three members of the group to enter without proof that they’d had coronavirus vaccines.

Puzzled diners watched the noisy group continue to shout curses inches from staff as they crowded around the entrance chanting “Shame” and for them to “go”, videos posted on social media.

Protesters accused the restaurant of putting black staff forward – even though the trio injured in the brawl were also “people of color,” the restaurant said.

“Last week there was a racist hostess here, all of you,” shouted BLM New York frontman Hawk Newsome over a loudspeaker, repeating the unfounded claims of the arresting tourist lawyer.

“She was mean to black people,” he said, repeating the attorney’s claim that the fight started when the hostess used the N word, rather than following New York law and to ask for proof of vaccines.

“I accuse Carmine of trying to cover up the actions of their employees by using the vaccination passport as an excuse,” Newsome said.

He accused the restaurant of hiding surveillance footage of the attack – only for owner Jeffrey Bank to post them later.

“My team members are working too hard to serve our guests, working too hard to comply with New York’s vaccination requirements, and still suffering too much from the attack for me to allow these false claims to continue,” a- he said of the racism allegations.

Videos show six of the group members arriving and allowed in – then each exiting after their three friends were not allowed in because staff complied with New York’s coronavirus laws, Banks said.

One of the Texan tourists then comes out and comes up to the neck of one of the hostesses, who tries to get away before the savage brawl breaks out.

The banks insisted there was no evidence of racist slurs being used, noting that none of the allegations had been reported to police – while noting that the staff attacked were black, Latino. American and Asian.

“This attack was not provoked at all,” Banks insisted, posting the clips.

“At no point did the women mention that any of the hosts had ever made a racial insult. The women also did not say this to the police who arrested them. No one heard such an insult either.

“It’s because none of our hosts – who are all people of color – has ever uttered such an insult,” he insisted.

“When my employees get it wrong, I hold us accountable. But when our employees are attacked, I will defend them to the limit, ”he said.

The alleged assailants – Sally Rechelle Lewis, 49, of Houston, and Kaeita Nkeenge Rankin, 44, and Tyonnie Keshay Rankin, 21, both of Humble, Texas – were charged with assault and criminal mischief and released. without bail, the cops said.

BLM protesters also sat in the middle of the road near the restaurant after Monday’s protest – and had a heated exchange with a Guardian Angels member standing nearby.

“S-kd-k, bh!” a masked protester yelled at him, as a group surrounded him as he tried to talk to them calmly, telling them, “I’m not going to leave – I live here.”
The NYPD said there were no arrests during the protest.
