Journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa say they learned that the former President Trump

Trump has not announced whether he plans to run for president again in 2024, but his allies and key leaders would be bracing for a scenario in which he does.
“I think [Trump running] that sounds more like a possibility now than before, “an aide to a Republican considering a race in 2024 told The Hill earlier this month.” That doesn’t mean you stop what you’re doing altogether. Until he says what he’s going to do, that’s not an option.
Woodward, a veteran journalist who has interviewed and written about Trump at length for several books, agrees with Costa’s assessment that the former president is anxious to return to the national political scene in any meaningful way.
“And if you’re wondering, what’s important, what for? And the answer is to be Donald Trump,” Woodward said. “And it’s not a program. It’s not – it doesn’t match the needs of the people of the country. And its disconnection from that, I mean, the struggle that people are engaged in, it doesn’t. has no idea. ”
A recent poll found that Trump was clearly the frontrunner to win the GOP presidential nomination in 2024 if he decided to run, with nearly 6 in 10 Republicans saying they would back him to be the party’s candidate.
“And so there is this vision of Trump as someone who is this strength of the Republican Party, which he indeed still is. It’s not going to go away,” Woodward said. “What’s going to happen to the Democratic Party? Who’s going to be president? And is Trump going to resurface? I think we’ve – in our reporting and talked about it, pretty clear that Trump is going to show up and some polls show he could beat Biden. ”
