Kanye West signs deal with tech firm that sued him for $ 20 million after claiming to steal ideas

Kanye West has struck a deal to end a lawsuit with a tech company that accused him of stealing their ideas.

The 44-year-old rapper and MyChannel have agreed to a joint termination stipulation, and RadarOnline.com has reported that the two sides are on the verge of paying their own legal fees.

The company also agreed to dismiss all claims against hitmaker Stronger after initially suing West for $ 20 million.

MyChannel initially filed a complaint in August 2020 and claimed that Kanye told them he admired the way their technology was using artificial intelligence “to incorporate e-commerce into video content” and planned to use it on his Yeezy website.

The company reportedly invested a large sum of money and more than 10,000 hours of work in developing a program for the singer, only to have him withdraw from the deal after six months.

The incident caused a breakup and MyChannel accused it of stealing their idea and using it for its Sunday Service shows without payment.

MyChannel initially collaborated with the Grammy-winning artist in 2018 with the goal of increasing sales of their Yeezy line.

Lawyers for the company had previously claimed that while the rapper never paid for the services, he promised to provide a $ 10 million investment, which never materialized.

MyChannel also claimed the artist had his headquarters moved across the country several times before the partnership ended.

They then sued Kanye for a total of $ 20 million and requested a jury trial.

West has denied any wrongdoing in relation to the legal matter, and the case was particularly notable for his controversial testimony.

The rapper refused to answer questions about the case and stormed out wearing a mask of Jesus Christ on his face because he claimed lawyers were not allowed to see his face.

During the 10-minute Zoom meeting, Kanye called the lawyer questioning him 12 times about a “boy” and described himself as a “mental genius”.

Before leaving abruptly, he said he was “America’s richest black man and a supporter of Black Trump.”

The hitmaker also remarked that “he couldn’t be bothered by the testimony because he had lives (and diets) to change.”

MyChannel immediately returned to court to ask West to sit down for another deposition due to his conduct at the meeting.

He recently agreed to sit for the second time, but that won’t need to happen now that the confidential deal has been reached.
