Update: Pokémon United is now available for download on mobile devices.

As you may have already seen, the MOBA Pokémon United is coming to mobile devices today. Ahead of its release, game producer Masaaki Hoshino delivered a special message to the official site – thanking players for all of their feedback so far and also revealing what to expect in the latest update.

Hoshino also revealed how the team is working on a new game mode to level the playing field. Here is the full post:

Hello everyone,

Since the release of Pokémon UNITE on Nintendo Switch ™, the team has enjoyed reading all the experiences our players have had during their adventures on Aeos Island. The topics, the details, the strategies, we learned so much about our game by listening to the conversations our players had. Every comment was invaluable to us, whether it was constructive criticism or compliments. We are proud to have created an experience that has generated so much enthusiasm, especially as we are inviting a new audience to the world of UNITE with the launch of the mobile game tomorrow.

For new and returning players alike, we’re excited to share some of the game updates that tomorrow will bring as well:

  • Full cross-platform play and account linking on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. Link an account and play with the same account on both platforms.
  • New in-game events where you can get super item boosters that can upgrade an item held to rank 30. We’ve also made it easier to get item boosts for all trainers.
  • New items pending to introduce new strategies.
  • The introduction of Unite squads, allowing coaches to team up with their teammates.
  • A second battle pass, which will include all-new cosmetic items, including new Holowear with special visual effects.
  • Deployment of some limited spectator mode features.
  • Support for several new languages.

We will continue to add more playable Pokémon and adjust the balance of both Pokémon and cards. Trainers can anticipate new battle passes, themed events, and other exciting content to make Pokémon UNITE even more fun and rewarding. In addition, we are developing a new game mode designed to level the playing field for all Trainers, regardless of the ratings of their owned items.

We’re committed to making every Unite Battle as fun and engaging as possible, and the changes above are just some of the many ways we’re working to achieve that goal. We look forward to continuing to hear the welcome and feedback from our players as we work with all of you for an experience all fans can enjoy. Thank you all for your continued support and interest in Pokémon UNITE.

See you on Aeos Island, Trainers.

Hoshino

Producer, Pokémon UNITE
