Arkane is also investigating “a separate, but related issue.”
Arkane Studios has released a new patch for its popular Deathloop shooter, aimed at addressing the widely reported stuttering issues affecting the PC version.
Reports of stuttering and low frame rates in the PC version began to surface shortly after Deathloop launched last week, and Arkane was quick to respond, assuring gamers he was “in the know. reports “and examined the problem” as a matter of priority “.
A little over a week later, Arkane’s first attempt to fix the issue came in Deathloop patch 1.708.4.0, which specifically addresses an issue some PC gamers are experiencing “in which camera movement based on the mouse could cause the appearance of “stuttering” “.
The patch notes for the new update add that Arkane is also looking at a “separate, but related issue that we have identified as a factor that could also be a cause of stuttering at high frame rates.” The developer says he will provide a further update on this second issue “as soon as we have more information.”
Despite the first technical oscillations, Deathloop was extremely well received. Eurogamer contributor Edwin Evans-Thirwell awarded him a brilliant Essential badge in his review, calling him a “brilliant time loop shooter that gives Dishonored’s best tips and techniques more opportunities to shine.”
