Bryan Danielson says he won’t do the “Yes!” sings in AEW because he respects the intellectual property of WWE.
Danielson recently appeared on the ‘Rasslin’ Podcast with Brandon Walker and revealed how he had a great conversation with longtime WWE Executive Producer and Head of Global TV Distribution Kevin Dunn before making his debut. with AEW. Danielson has been asked to respect WWE’s PI, and he said he’s doing his best to do so.
Regarding the popular “Yes! Chants, Danielson said that while he will lead others to do them, he will not do them himself.
“I don’t do it myself because I respect WWE’s intellectual property,” Danielson said. “I don’t think anything legal, they didn’t threaten anything legally. So I had a great conversation with Kevin Dunn with WWE before he debuted with AEW.
“I’ve been very frank with WWE about ‘Okay, I want to let you know I’m leaving. This is my first date and all that stuff. They asked me, politely, to respect their intellectual property, even some of the things that could not be legally enforced. I do my best to do that.
Danielson debuted with AEW at All Out on September 5. He will make his in-ring debut tonight in the Grand Slam edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT, in an untitled match against AEW World Champion Kenny Omega.
