The Duchess of Cambridge was dazzled in a bespoke £ 400 white dress as she hosted an event to thank those who worked on her Hold Still project tonight.

Photography enthusiast Kate Middleton, 39, launched her campaign during the first lockdown last year to ask the public to submit images that captured the period.

The result was a book of photographs, Hold Still: A Portrait of Our Nation in 2020, which featured 100 final “poignant and personal” portraits selected from 31,000 entrants and quickly became a bestseller when released in May.

Posting on Instagram, the Duchess thanked those who had helped her with the project, writing: ‘Thanks to the brilliant partners who made Hold Still a reality!

“It took a long time to get everyone behind this amazing project in person, but tonight we finally got it right.

“The idea came right at the start of the pandemic and was aimed at bringing people and communities together, using the incredible power of photography.

“This has been made possible by so many partners, and what is more remarkable is the way everything has been orchestrated from kitchen tables and guest rooms!

Posting on Instagram, the Duchess thanked those who had helped her with the project, writing: “Thanks to the brilliant partners who made Hold Still a reality!”

“The most special thanks must go to the thousands of people across the country who took the time to share their experiences with foreclosure. Without them, the project really wouldn’t have been possible.

The royal appeared animated as she chatted with a small group of contributors in snapshots of the event.

Meanwhile, she opted for a bespoke £ 400 Self Portrait dress for the occasion.

Her long brown locks were styled in a bouncy ponytail, revealing a pair of dangling gold earrings.

In addition to showcasing the latest 100 images and the stories that accompany them, the book looks back on highlights from the community exhibit that featured the portraits on billboards and outdoor display sites in 80 cities. and regions in October 2020.

Over the course of the project, the Duchess shared a number of her favorite images on the Kensington Royal Instagram page, including a Black Lives Matter protester holding a sign that read: ‘Be on the right side of history’.

Another of the snaps was a black and white image showing a man kissing his daughter, while one shows a child kissing his godmother through a window.

Meanwhile, others featured a female student in possession of her exam diplomas and a young girl seen drawing a huge rainbow on a glass pane.

Kate’s latest appearance comes after returning to work from her annual summer vacation.

The royal has had a busy week so far, visiting the Lake District where she tried rappelling and mountain biking with the Air Cadets.

She later met some surviving “Windermere Children” who were rescued from concentration camps and taken to the Lake District on a visit to Cumbria.

It was Kate’s first public observation since attending her brother James Middleton’s glamorous wedding in the south of France just days ago.
