Today’s Dealmaster is featured by a small but noticeable discount on Apple’s new ninth-generation iPad, the 64GB Space Gray version of which is currently down to $ 299 at Amazon and Walmart. That’s $ 30 off Apple’s MSRP even though the 10.2-inch tablet won’t technically be released until September 24. Note that you may have to wait a few more days for the device to ship if you go this route instead of buying directly from Apple, but we thought this deal was worth highlighting for. those who were willing to accept this compromise in order to save some money.

We published our review of the latest entry-level iPad on Wednesday, saying it “remains the one most people should buy.” To be clear, its larger edges, lack of lamination and anti-reflective coating on the screen, and slower Lightning port certainly show their age alongside the more modern design language of the iPad Pro, iPad Air. and the freshly refreshed iPad mini. But the ninth generation iPad still delivers rugged hardware, an otherwise pleasing display, and more than enough performance for web surfing, video streaming, mobile gaming, and lighter work. This is in addition to the usual rich library of apps and long-term software support that comes with owning an iOS device. If you already own a relatively new model, there’s no pressing need for an upgrade here, but this year’s iteration doubles the base storage (now with 64GB) and an upgraded A13 Bionic chip. (which gives it roughly comparable performance to the iPhone 11 series 2019). The front camera has been slightly improved to become a 12MP wide-angle camera which may be preferable for group video calls, and there is now support for Apple’s True Tone display technology, which changes the temperature from screen color to match the ambient lighting in your environment. . The whole thing can always be upgraded to a slightly more user-friendly machine using a keyboard case or Apple’s Pencil (first generation) stylus.

The iPad’s most appealing feature, however, is its price – it’s by far the most affordable tablet Apple sells, and the value it offers is only increased by discounts like this. It’s not the most exciting product in Apple’s portfolio, and users with more pressing productivity needs will probably be better off switching to an iPad Air or Pro (especially considering the cost of a compatible keyboard case). . But if you just want a nice and competent tablet for casual purposes, this is still a device to recommend.

If you don’t need a new tablet, however, our deal rundown also has discounts on Apple’s MagSafe Charger and MacBook Air, plenty of SSDs and great video games, and more. You can check out the full rundown below.
