Mondstadt’s favorite idol Barbara is in charge of promoting Genshin Impact in the game’s homeland of China with a massive 3D billboard. In the short video that goes around Bilibili (and is also available on YouTube), Barbara opens a window and waves to the crowd, sometimes reaching out to grab a Crystalfly. According to Luankana, their friend miHoYo sent it to their group of friends. Whether it’s their friend who loves miHoYo games or an actual acquaintance who works at miHoYo is unclear. The Genshin Impact Barbara’s 3D billboard appears to be in Chengdu Taiguli in Jinjiang District. In addition to collecting a Crystalfly, Barbara also unlocks a slime giveaway to reveal an advertisement for Genshin Impact.

This isn’t the first time miHoYo has used Barbara to promote the game as if she’s an Idol or VTuber. In early 2021, she posted a short video in which Barbara answers questions as if the viewer was having a conversation with her. During the video, she shows off her secret diary and mentions her love for spicy dried fish.
Genshin Impact is readily available worldwide on Windows PCs, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and mobile devices. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
