Kar98k secret feature makes him by far the most powerful sniper in Warzone

Despite the popularity of both weapons in Verdansk, data from Warzone suggests that there is a clear winner between the Kar98k and the Swiss K31 – with one of the sniper rifles enjoying an incredible advantage in aid to the target.

There is a range of long-range weapons in Warzone, with sniper and sniper rifles from Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War. However, there is little to no sign of weapons like the Tundra, Pellington, and AX-50, with two bolt-action weapons dominating the landscape.

These are the Kar98k from Modern Warfare and the Swiss K31 from BOCW. Both weapons offer decent maneuverability, damage and speed and are by far the two most popular snipers in CoD battle royale.

The Kar98k has been fighting with the Swiss for some time.

However, a new video from content creator Warzone TrueGameData suggests that there is only one winner, with one of the snipers having an incredible advantage.

The origins of the Kar98k in Modern Warfare may be the reason for its advantage, with some anecdotal reports claiming that MW weapons have more aim assist than those in the Cold War.

It’s not entirely clear if this is the case, but by focusing only on the Kar98k and the Swiss K31, the former has a “pretty huge” aim assist advantage according to the statistics guru of Warzone.

TGD explained that the Kar98k gets hipfire aim assist (essentially aim assist without ADS) at around 35m, and normal ADS aim assist at around 200m. The Swiss, meanwhile, do not get hipfire aiming aid and “minimal” ADS aiming aid.

While TGD argued that the performance of the Swiss is actually slightly better than that of the Kar98k, the significant aim assist differences mean that all controller players should use the latter by default.

Mouse and keyboard players should always go for the Swiss, thanks to its slightly better damage and reload.

The differences, TGD said, are likely due to the Kar98k’s classification as a sniper rifle rather than a sniper.

Whatever the reasons, there now seems to be only one winner (at least for controller players).
