Conservative commentator Meghan McCain slammed Democrats on Sunday for isolating party moderates, most recently in the fight against President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better agenda.
Moderate Democrats such as Sens. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., And Joe Manchin, DW.Va., raised concerns about the $ 3.5 trillion package, which earned them the ire of their more progressive colleagues.
Representative Ro Khanna, D-Calif., Is one such critic, hitting the pair of moderates on CNN on Monday.
“You envision about two senators and eight House members delaying everything,” Khanna said, adding that they were waiting for Sinema and Manchin to provide an alternative offer in their negotiations.

“This disgust and outward hostility towards moderates in the Democratic Party surprises me,” said McCain, a Daily Mail columnist who left “The View” this summer, on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” show.
She singled out Sen. Cory Booker, DN.J., who was on “Meet the Press” shortly before her appearance, for speaking so candidly about dividing the Democratic Party.
“I was also shocked to see Senator Booker speak somehow openly about this mistrust between progressives and moderates,” she added.
McCain dealt a final blow to Biden, who, she reminded fellow panelists, ran for president last year as a moderate alternative to his more progressive opponents, such as Senator Bernie Sanders, I-Vt.
“President Biden ran moderate,” McCain said. “He ran and won with the help of Independents, Centrists, Trump-tired Republicans, and he doesn’t rule as one.”

Biden’s Build Back Better is “the most progressive modern agenda” of recent years, she added.
Sinema and Manchin have been targeted by their more liberal colleagues for several months now, on multiple issues or legislative texts.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DN.Y., slammed Sinema for her opposition to ending the Senate filibuster. In an editorial in the Washington Post, the senator feared that removing the filibuster could lead to “repeated radical reversals of federal policy.” Ocasio-Cortez said Sinema’s comments were “essentially an argument to say, ‘Well, why do anything about it, in case something in the future might change it. “”
Left-wing media figures have also repeatedly expressed frustration with moderate Democrats for blocking a progressive agenda.
MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan mocked Sinema this month for opposing the spending program following Axios report revealing Sinema uses “secret spreadsheets” containing costs and tax increases associated with the programs. Hasan suggested Sinema’s agenda was “condescending” and sarcastically asked her guest, “squad” representative Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., If the Arizona senator “understands math. and progressives, right? ”

Another obstacle to progressive spending targets is Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema whose staff and people around her appeared to inform Axios yesterday that she focuses on the bottom line like an accountant and is armed with its own spreadsheets on the costs and tax increases needed for each program, ”Hasan said.
MSNBC host Joy reid recently said the two moderates could lose their seats in the 2022 midterm elections. Social media users have informed her that Manchin and Sinema will not be re-elected until 2024.
