Liam Gallagher once likened his brother Noel to a potato, and now Noel has upped the stakes by taking their feud out of root veg and metaphysics, suggesting that Liam is “not really real.”

For context, the quip came during an interview that Noel gave to the BBC earlier this month, when asked if he would still be up for an Oasis reunion in hologram form – a compromise which, of course, would negate forcing the two conflicting brothers to physically interact with each other.

“I said once, didn’t I, in the press, that I was going to stage the gig with holograms, and I think Liam took it seriously,” Noel said. on BBC Radio 2 Sofa sitting. “Liam is a hologram anyway. I don’t know if people know it, it’s not real. … But yes, of course I would. If anything changes, trust me, he would be the first to let people know. “

Noel’s comments, which only recently started to gain traction online despite initially airing on September 8, didn’t seem to trigger the typical back-and-forth between the Gallagher brothers that such grievance broadcasts usually cause. However, it does raise questions about Liam’s recent crash where he literally fell from a helicopter and suffered a handful of facial injuries.

Was it a cry for help? A radical bet to prove to his brother that he is not a simple hologram, but a living being who breathes who can experience agony and ecstasy? To prove – and here we are paraphrasing Shakespeare – once and for all: “If [I] [fall out of a helicopter] to do [I] not bleed?

OK, probably not, but with these two you never know.
