Christopher Judge, the actor known to PlayStation fans as God of War’s Kratos, claims to be responsible for the delay in the upcoming sequel, God of War Ragnarok.
In a series of heartfelt tweets, the actor reveals that he suffered a period of ill health, which impacted his ability to work on the project. The judge said that in “August 2019, I couldn’t walk. I had to undergo back surgery, both hip replacement and knee surgery.” Apparently Santa Monica Studio was very accommodating and waited until he regained his health before doing any more performance capture work.
“No threats, no ‘who do you think you are?’ Nothing but love and support. [Santa Monica Studio] never said a word about the delay and what caused it “, continues the judge:
It’s obviously very unfortunate that the actor has been through all of this, and we sincerely hope he’s back in good health. We’re happy to hear that the development team gave Judge the time he needed to recuperate, even if it meant a delay in production.
Of course, the actor shouldn’t take the blame for Ragnarok’s delay; we’re sure several different factors led the game to drop in 2022. Naturally, the fan response has been overwhelmingly favorable, which is a good thing to see.
Good stuff all around, then. Be great to each other in the comments section below.
