Steelers Thursday Injury Report Week 4: Watt, Johnson Full Participants; Highsmith, Claypool Limited

The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their second Week 4 injury report and Thursday’s offer shows good news for several key players

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral), wide receiver Diontae Johnson (knee) and outside linebacker TJ Watt (groin) trained fully for the Steelers on Thursday. Johnson and Watt both missed the Steelers’ Week 3 game with their respective injuries, so both certainly tend to play against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs), wide receiver Chase Claypool (hamstrings) and outside linebacker Alex Highsmith were limited in Thursday’s practice according to the Steelers Daily Injury Report.

Smith-Schuster is moving in the right direction after being knocked out of the squad’s Week 3 Sunday game with a rib injury. Highsmith still looks a bit questionable to play on Sunday after missing the Week 3 game with Watt and Johnson. As for Claypool, he’s a new addition to Thursday’s injury report.

Defensive tackle Carlos Davis (knee), tackle Chukwuma Okorafor (concussion) and guard Rashaad Coward (ankle) did not practice Thursday for the Steelers.

Davis certainly won’t play against the Packers on Sunday, as he missed the team’s previous two games with a knee injury. It will be interesting to see if Okorafor can be allowed to play by Sunday. He was taken out of the Week 3 game on Sunday for a possible concussion and never returned. As for Coward, he’s been inactive for all three games this season as a healthy zero.
