Tom Brady is doing his best to keep the Tampa Bay Buccaneers playing with the New England Patriots this weekend on football and soccer only.
Brady was asked during his media availability on Thursday if he knew why Patriots coach Bill Belichick had said goodbye over the phone rather than meeting him in person.

Brady’s No.12 Patriots jerseys are always plentiful in the stands on game day at Gillette Stadium. With Brady’s new Tampa home being equally enraged by the player who won him a championship in his debut season, it has created a tussle between the fan bases as he prepares to return to the place where his career began.

“All of these things are super personal. We’ve had a great relationship. I think it was handled the right way. We handled everything as graciously as possible. It was an amazing time. It was handled perfectly. I think that everyone understood where we were at, the people involved in the situation. Things have worked out for the best for all of us, and we are all trying to do our best now, “Brady said.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion went on to say that Sunday night was not about the story between him and the Patriots.

The phone call was reported to Belichick earlier in the week after a new book revealed the coach declined an in-person meeting with Brady. Several excerpts from the book were released on Wednesday, and Belichick reportedly denied an in-person meeting with Brady was one of them. The legendary head coach shot down the protest at a press conference.

Sunday night’s game will be Brady’s first game against the Patriots. He left New England during the 2020 offseason to join the Buccaneers.
