Browns at Vikings: Interim injury reports

[ad_1]

It’s time for the second injury of the week for the Minnesota Vikings and the Cleveland Browns. Unfortunately for Purple, the match is getting closer and, much to Leon, the Vikings’ injury record becomes larrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrger.

Too deep a pull? My excuses.

Either way, we’ll start with the visiting team’s injury report here.

Cleveland browns

Did not participate

  • CB Greg Newsom II (calf, already declared absent for Sunday)
  • C JC Tretter (knee)
  • OT Jedrick Wills Jr. (ankle)

Limited participation

  • OT Jack Conklin (knee)
  • OT Chris Hubbard (triceps)
  • LB Sione Takitaki (hamstrings)

Full participation

  • WR Odell Beckham Jr. (shoulder, to improve by LP on Wednesday)
  • BY Jadeveon Clowney (neck, new addition to injury report)

The Browns second injury report has a lot of similarities to the first, except that OBJ was outclassed as a full participant and Clowney was added to the report. The possibility that the Browns will miss a couple of starters on the offensive line remains a possibility, but I guess we’ll see changes on that front in tomorrow’s final report.

In a related story, Jadeveon Clowney is playing for the Browns now, I guess. Who knew? (I did not know.)

And now it’s time for the home team.

Minnesota Vikings

Did not participate

  • CB Mackensie Alexander (personal issue)
  • CB Bashaud Breeland (illness, new addition to injury report)
  • CB Kris Boyd (hamstrings, downgrade by LP on Wednesday)
  • TE Ben Ellefson (neck, new addition to injury report)
  • WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette (toe)

Limited participation

  • LB Anthony Barr (knee)
  • TE Tyler Conklin (butt / elbow, to improve DNP on Wednesday)
  • RB Dalvin Cook (ankle)
  • CB Harrison Main (hamstrings)
  • DT Michael Pierce (elbow / shoulder, new addition to injury report)

Full participation

  • OT Christian Darrisaw (groin)
  • CB Harrison Main (hamstrings, to improve by LP on Wednesday)
  • LB Eric Kendricks (hip, to improve by LP on Wednesday)
  • S Xavier Woods (hamstrings, to improve by LP on Wednesday)

Yes, 14 injured players show up at a certain level for the Vikings on Thursday. It should be noted that the four players who got “veterans days off” on Wednesday (Rashod Hill, Patrick Peterson, Harrison Smith and Adam Thielen) all returned to training on Thursday.

The Vikings are suddenly. . .well no this suddenly, I guess. . .seeming a bit thin at the corner, with three of their top five corners not training on Thursday. Still no word on what Alexander is up to, but it’s really none of our business. We can just hope he comes back soon.

There have also been several upgrades, so the news is not that bad. Conklin returned to training as Ellefson (who has been a great tackle so far this year) was added to today’s report. There were also several upgrades for full participation, including a pair of starters at Kendricks and Woods. Dalvin Cook continues to train with limited capacity, so we’ll have to wait for Friday’s final report to see whether or not he can try Sunday afternoon.

The latest injury reports tomorrow, ladies and gentlemen. Keep your fingers crossed for increased good health.
