You might have watched Capcom’s Monster Hunter Showcase from the Tokyo Game Show with us earlier, but if you weren’t, there are definitely a few. Monster Hunter Rise updates you should know about.
First of all, a fun collaboration with Ghosts and Goblins Resurrection, which arrives on October 29. It’ll feature an event quest where you can earn Arthur-inspired layered armor, and it’ll even feature music from the challenging platformer for good measure.
Another delightfully wacky link that has been announced, in this case a throwback to what we saw in the 3DS entries, is with Sonic The Hedgehog; this collaboration arrives in november.
We also got a quick look at Rise’s “massive expansion” which is slated for next summer – Sunbreak. It has been confirmed that you will need to have completed the 7 Star Quests (the main story, in other words) in Rise to access the DLC, with your hunter leaving the village to discover multiple bases and locations in the new land. Capcom also unveiled the huge and deadly crab-like monster Shogun Ceanataur, making a throwback to the old days of the series as part of the Sunbreak add-on.
If you missed the presentation earlier, you can make up for it below; it’s worth watching for the music segment in the middle, in particular.
Let us know what you think of the upcoming “collaborations” and if you’re excited for Sunbreak’s next expansion.
