As it sets out the players’ behavior charter.
Reporting players who break the rules of Battlefield 2042 will be easier than ever, developer DICE said.
Writing today in the game’s vast community charter, DICE said its player reporting system will be faster than in previous Battlefield titles and can now be completed in-game.
DICE said it had also heard comments, it was not clear if reports from past players had ever resulted in action. Now you will be notified in-game that your report has been received and later contacted via email if and when action is taken.
“In Battlefield 2042, our first approach to ensuring fair play is to use Easy-Anti Cheat (EAC) as the anti-cheat tool of choice,” DICE wrote, detailing another line of defense. “EAC has a proven track record in identifying cheaters, such as in Apex Legends and Star Wars: Squadrons. It has also been proven to be effective in ensuring your privacy and security.”
Any cheater whose account is banned will now be instantly logged out in the middle of the match and banned on all platforms, thanks to the game’s cross-play feature. In addition, DICE also retains the ability to block users based on their IP and of their material.
Finally, in another move to keep the game fair, Battlefield 2042 will not offer mouse and keyboard support for consoles at launch. Any changes in this regard in the future will be announced by DICE prior to their deployment.
In addition to cheating, DICE also detailed a series of guidelines on how the community should interact with each other, helping newbies wherever possible, and without intimidating or spamming other players. Simply put, don’t act like a jerk.
Earlier this month, Battlefield 2042’s release date was pushed back one month to November 19. The game’s open beta has also been delayed, but will now roll out next week starting October 6 for those with early access. Expect all of the above features and rules to be applied.
