Cody Rigsby, an outstanding Peloton instructor who landed a spot in the current season of “Dancing With the Stars,” has tested positive for COVID-19, he revealed Thursday.

This is the second time he has tested positive for the virus in 2021.

“Although I am fully vaccinated and have taken many precautions, per CDC guidelines, I recently tested positive for COVID-19,” the 34-year-old explained on Instagram. “To rest and recover well as well as to avoid exposing others, I’m going to take a break in the next few days. I appreciate all your support and will be back as soon as I’m ready.

Rigsby added in the video that his symptoms so far include congestion and a mild headache.

Four days earlier, her dance partner, Cheryl Burke, had announced that she had also tested positive for COVID-19.

“I feel so bad. I feel so bad for Cody. I feel like I let him down. I just wanna shit,” she said of her partner Rigsby to the era.

“It’s so upsetting because it’s Sunday and the show is tomorrow. I thought I should let you know since I’ve been as open, as real and as vulnerable as I can get here, ”Burke continued. “I just hope I haven’t spread it. For those of you who don’t think COVID is a real thing, it’s true, man. “

Prior to the fitness instructor’s diagnosis, plans were in place for Burke to train her via Zoom as she recovered.

Representatives for ABC and Cheryl Burke did not immediately return our request for comment.
