Dog the Bounty Hunter Receives Crazy Amount of Tips on Brian Laundrie

Dog the Bounty Hunter claims he received a “crazy” amount of tips in the hunt for Brian Laundrie – but he did not share them with law enforcement.

Duane “Dog” Chapman, who inserted himself in the massive manhunt for Gabby Petito’s fugitive boyfriend last weekend, said he had not coordinated with the police or the FBI while his team sifted through over 2,000 calls to his personal hotline.

“I guess we’re doing a bit of the same thing but I’m really not paying too much attention, like they aren’t paying too much attention to me,” he said of law enforcement in a Thursday interview on Newsmax’s “Spicer & Co”.

“After 45 years, I don’t call the police, they’re usually called on me – so I don’t know what they’re doing.

“I can’t call and say, ‘Hey, G-Man, what’s going on, where are your prospects? “”, he added. “And they don’t call me and say, ‘Hey dog, where are your leads? – so I have no idea.

About 20 percent of calls to his 833-TELLDOG hotline are “positive leads,” he said in the interview. But he and the police “work differently,” he noted.

“Now if someone is in a house and starts shooting at us, we call Big Brother and they send out the SWAT and the dogs and grab the guy,” he told hosts Sean Spicer and Lyndsay Keith. “But I don’t check with the police or the government to tell them what I’m doing and again, they don’t check with me to tell me what they’re doing.”

The former reality TV personality got involved on Saturday after law enforcement had already searched for days for Laundrie, 23, near her parents’ home in Florida.

Laundrie had returned from a trip across the country with Petito, 22, on September 1 – without his longtime girlfriend. Petito was reported missing on September 11 and later found dead in Wyoming.

Laundrie, who remains the only person of interest in the case, apparently fled and was reported missing by her parents some time before Petito’s remains were found.

There is an arrest warrant against him for fraud for using someone’s bank card around the time of Petito’s disappearance.

Chapman, who has reportedly bought another reality TV series, plans to resume the search on Friday at an undisclosed location, a spokeswoman confirmed. His team are hopeful that Laundrie will be brought “safely” quickly.

“The dog doesn’t care who brings him in, just that he’s apprehended,” a statement from his team said.
