Virginia wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks made one of college football’s most ridiculous touchdowns this season on Thursday night in a game against the ACC against Miami.

Cavaliers quarterback Brennan Armstrong stepped back to advance to the third quarter and found Wicks heading for the end zone. Hurricanes defensive back Marcus Clark appeared to get his hands on the ball first and his momentum pushed him back, but he couldn’t hang on to the hold.

Wicks fell to the ground but the balloon spun around on his back. Clark couldn’t lock the ball up and Wicks rolled over on his butt and the ball somehow fell into his hands for the touchdown.

It was a 36-yard touchdown and Virginia completed a two-point conversion to go up 27-14 with 5:50 left in the quarter.

The Cavaliers would hang on later for the 30-28 victory.

Virginia entered her third conference game of the season with a 2-2, 0-2 overall record in the ACC game. The team started the year with wins over William & Mary and Illinois, but fell to North Carolina and Wake Forest in consecutive weeks.

Miami is under immense pressure and is without starting quarterback D’Eriq King for the second game in a row. The Hurricanes defeated Appalachian State and Central Connecticut State, but were embarrassed against Alabama and Michigan State.
