Daniel Craig on Saturday Night Live saying "the weekend"

You probably started your weekend off right last year, which means you probably scrolled online on a Friday, saw Daniel Craig in a video, heard him advertise “the weekend,” and then carried on. your day. It is from his turn Saturday Night Live when musical guest The Weeknd was there, and Craig seemed so relieved by it.

In turn, it became a meme. When Friday came each week, the video was posted by @CraigWeekend, and we would all know that our time to relax was upon us. And this has been happening since July 2020, apparently unbeknownst to Daniel Craig himself.

Now, however, Daniel Craig seems to know all about it. According to Weekly entertainment, the actor was doing the press for No time to die with The New York Times, and after a year and a half of us all greeted in the weekend thanks to Daniel Craig, the actor was alerted to the popular internet trend.

“What is that?” Craig asked Dave Itzkoff, who brought up the trend by letting him know about the pictures, videos, and gifs that go around when Friday rolls around each week. After finally realizing what Itzkoff was referring to, Craig said, “They do it? It’s incredible. I don’t know what it is, but thanks. It is adorable. Guess I should have social media to find out what this was about.

Created by a Californian teenager, the Twitter account has become a joy to all of us. Sometimes we can forget that it is happening. Others, we are waiting at the edge of our seats to see the video to know that we can finally make some time for ourselves, but anyway, it’s just a weird collective thing that has started to get us all excited. . Maybe it was 40s, maybe it was just being thrown into a world where we love memes, but whatever the case, Daniel Craig’s introduction to The Weeknd on Saturday Night Live is one of the best things to come out of the past couple of years, and we should all be thankful for that.

This is how we know the weekend is here. Even The Weeknd himself joined in posting:

Honestly, that’s exactly the kind of reaction I guess we would get from Daniel Craig once he found out. He’s not online, he doesn’t seem to care about any jokes or songs, and he sort of does his job and walks away. So tell him about a popular Twitter meme he’s involved in that doesn’t know what the world is talking about? Looks good for Craig.

So we can all be quiet now. Daniel Craig knows he is our flagship for the weekend.
