Aaron Jones has hopefully lost his father’s ashes for the last time.

The Green Bay Packers running back told reporters on Friday that longtime equipment director Gordon “Red” Batty had sewn a pocket inside his jersey to secure a pendant containing the ashes of his shirt. father, who died of complications from COVID-19 in April.

From ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:

“He put a pocket right on the left side,” Jones said Friday, pointing just above his heart. “So I can just drop it in there and not have to worry about it falling. So I can play with it.”

Jones made headlines last weekend scoring four touchdowns in a big win over the Detroit Lions, but lost the pendant in the end zone in one of his scores. Jones luckily announced last Tuesday that the necklace has been found.

Jones is off to an early start to his fifth NFL season with the Packers. In three games, the 26-year-old has recorded 158 rushing yards, 75 receiving yards and five total touchdowns.
