Despite multiple injuries in key positions, # 13 BYU traveled to Logan and dealt with Utah State 34-20 on Friday night. The state of Utah, which sees BYU as a bitter rival, has decided to move BYU to the sidelines at home next to the student section of USU. According to the show, this was the first time in the history of the state of Utah that the opposing team had been sidelined.
What could go wrong, right?
It remains for us to imagine what the scene would have looked like if the Aggies had managed to stir up trouble and storm the pitch. Again, what could possibly go wrong?
When the time ran out and BYU was in formation for the victory, the Utah State Student Section began tossing bottles and trash on the BYU sideline.
Given the design of Maverick Stadium, students were only a few feet from the BYU bench. The result, while unfortunate, is hardly surprising given the circumstances.
BYU players react to start 5-0
For the first time in consecutive seasons, BYU is 5-0. After the game, players took to social media to celebrate the fifth win of the season.
Kicker Jake Oldroyd even referred to Ogden’s longtime joke.
BYU defensive back Caleb Christensen, originally from Cache Valley, may have crossed a line when he tackled the famous Aggie ice cream.
BYU returns home next week to take on Boise State. This game will start at 1:30 p.m. MST and will be televised on ESPN or ABC.
