Georgia quarterback JT Daniels and Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson will both be game-time decisions for Saturday’s clash, their coaches told ESPN’s College GameDay.
Daniels, who suffers from a lat injury, ranks eighth in the FBS overall QBR (87.6) in four games for the No.2 Bulldogs (12 p.m. ET / ESPN and ESPN App).
“It will all depend on how well JT performs in the warm-ups,” Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart told ESPN on Saturday. “He was able to go this week. We hope he can go, but we’ll see in the warm-ups.”
Jefferson, meanwhile, has a strained posterior cruciate ligament and wore a brace on his left knee in training this week for the No.8 Razorbacks.
“I think we’ll find out a bit more in the pre-game, let’s see a bit of how he does,” Arkansas coach Sam Pittman told ESPN. “He trained most of the time, but limited this week.”
Earlier this season, Daniels missed out on a 56-7 win over UAB due to an oblique injury. Substitute Stetson Bennett started for the Bulldogs, throwing five touchdowns on 10-for-12 passes. Daniels only played the first quarter of last week’s 62-0 win at Vanderbilt, and Bennett and the third string player. Carson Beck finished the game.
The latissimus dorsi muscles, commonly referred to as the lats, are the V-shaped muscles that connect the arms to the spine.
Jefferson twisted his left knee in last week’s win over Texas A&M. He ranks 14th in FBS for passing efficiency (170.1) and is second with an average of 10.8 yards per completion. In total, he threw for 844 yards and six touchdowns.
ESPN’s Mark Schlabach contributed to this report.
