A new dissertation revealing Katie couric, whose rich career in several major news networks has propelled her to the highest echelons of the media world, reopens old wounds and has not even emerged yet. In excerpts from Go which were published before the book debut on October 26, Couric seems to be downright honest about how she felt about other women she worked with and her contemporaries, like herself. According to an excerpt from the book shared by The daily mailCouric wrote that she had never been particularly warm to women in her business because she felt the need to “protect” her “land.” Instead, she often gave them the cold shoulder because she feared that “someone younger and cuter would always be around the corner.” She appeared to be targeting in particular a promising former NBC News player, who fired back in a series of interviews this week, saying she believes Couric may have “derailed” his career.

Ashleigh Banfield was a rising news anchor in the early 2000s, whose incisive MSNBC reporting of 9/11 and the conflict in Afghanistan garnered much praise. But Banfield’s career took a series of unexpected turns, and she never quite reached the heights of success she seemed destined to be. Now after seeing excerpts from GoBanfield thinks it may have been, in part, because of his Couric.
In an excerpt cited by The daily mail, Couric writes that Banfield, at one point, “was the next big thing. I had heard her father telling anyone who wanted to hear him that she was going to replace me. In this environment, the mentoring felt like a self- sabotage. “

Banfield was on his way to the top of NBC News. After her coverage of September 11, she had her own MSNBC show, A region in conflict, in 2001, then Ashleigh Banfield on site.
Although she was hailed as a success for the network, Banfield said she suddenly fell out of favor with NBC management and was forced to step down for several months. She first attributed the row to comments she made in a 2003 speech at Kansas State University that criticized mainstream media coverage of the Iraq War.
But after reading the excerpts from Couric’s book, she recently said TMZ Live she now wonders if Couric’s feelings contributed to her break with the network.
“She was so good at her job, and I admired her, so I didn’t think there was a possibility that anything could happen behind the scenes to derail me there,” Banfield said on the 1st. October. “I heard a lot of rumors. I really wondered if this was it. It’s really hard to deal with this, I’m not going to lie.
When asked directly if she thinks Couric contributed to her ouster, Banfield said: “I’m going to say this, I had an idea, yes. I was never sure. really didn’t feel like a big deal. “

Banfield, who now hosts his own eponymous show on News Nation, took several minutes from his September 30 show to respond to Couric’s words and respond to a specific allegation that Couric made about his father – that he repeatedly pleaded for his daughter to replace Couric.

Banfield isn’t the only person Couric criticizes in his memoir.
According to The daily mail, she criticized once Today host Deborah Norville for being too perfect for morning television, claiming she had a “major relativity problem” for people getting ready to watch the show. Couric recalled that a colleague said Norville made “people feel like they had to get dressed before turning on the television.”
Of Martha stewart, she wrote that the prison helps provide “healthy humility,” according to the outlet.
Couric also recalled attending a dinner in 2010 at that of Jeffrey Epstein house frequented by Prince Andrew, Woody allen, and Charlie rose, among others.
“I couldn’t imagine what Epstein and Andrew were doing, other than trying to cultivate media friends,” she wrote, according to The daily mail. “What, in retrospect, they must have thought they would need when the accusations of pedophilia started rolling in.”
