Emily Ratajkowski says Robin Thicke crossed the line while filming the music video for “Blurred Lines,” a Grammy-nominated song that critics say objectifies women and promotes rape culture.

The Sunday opening hours reports that Ratajkowski’s next book – My body, released Nov. 9 – alleges the singer groped her topless on the set of the 2013 music video, in which she and two other nearly naked models appeared alongside Thicke, Pharrell Williams and TI

The 30-year-old actress and model says Thicke caught her off guard by touching her chest “from behind.”

“Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and strangeness of the hands of a stranger taking my bare breasts from behind,” she wrote. “I instinctively walked away looking at Robin Thicke.

“He smirked a goofy grin and stumbled back, his eyes hidden behind his sunglasses. My head turned to the darkness beyond the scenery. [The director, Diane Martel’s] her voice broke as she screamed at me, “Are you okay?” “

Although the alleged moment made her feel “naked for the first time that day,” the Missing girl The star was “desperate to downplay” the situation. She explained that Thicke, who opened up about his drug and alcohol abuse past, was “a little drunk” and “didn’t seem to be having the same fun” on set.

“I pushed my chin forward and shrugged, avoiding eye contact, feeling the warmth of humiliation spread through my body,” she wrote. “I didn’t react – not really, not like I should have.”

Diane Martel, who directed the video, corroborated Ratajkowski’s account, telling the Times, “I remember the moment he grabbed her breasts. One in each hand. He was standing behind her as they were both in profile.

Martel said she responded to the alleged assault by yelling at Thicke, who she said was drinking, adding: “I don’t think he would have done this if he had been sober.”

“I shouted in my very aggressive Brooklyn voice, ‘What the hell are you doing !! Filming is over !! ‘ She told the British newspaper, adding that she had taken steps to make women feel comfortable on set.

“Robin apologized sheepishly,” said Martel. “As if he knew it was wrong without realizing how it might have felt for Emily.”

According to Martel, Thicke’s record company has been informed that filming will be halted, although a “very professional” Ratajkowski assured him that “we can continue”.

“We kept going and Emily was phenomenal,” Martel told the Times. “She really is the star of the video. She makes fun of him completely and the masculine gaze with her beautiful form and fierce energy. She’s playful, not flirty. And quite hilarious.”

In her book, Ratajkowski says she didn’t dwell on the alleged incident until she realized that Thicke, now a judge on The masked singer, had blocked her on Instagram.

“With this gesture, Robin Thicke reminded everyone on set that we women are not really responsible,” she says of her experience. “I had no real power as the naked girl dancing in her music video. I was nothing more than the model hired.”

Thicke has yet to publicly respond to Ratajkowski’s claims. Yahoo has contacted their reps for comment and will update with their response.
