UK vacuum cleaner company Dyson doesn’t want to stay in the dust when it comes to robotic vacuum cleaners. The company’s current robovac, the Dyson 360 Eye, is currently out of stock in the United States. but recent FCC Deposits show the company is working on a potential new product to help meet the demand for mechanical household helpers.

Dyson’s FCC repositories, marked with The edge today and titled “Dyson 360 VISNAV”, points to a striking blue offering with the brand “Dyson 360 Hyperdymium”. Hyperdyme refers to proprietary engine technology that can “operate at speeds of up to 125,000 rpm,” according to Dyson. Dyson also says the technology allows it to make lightweight vacuum cleaners. The “360” part suggests that the robot will follow the steps of the 360 ​​Eye’s rolling brush while wearing a 360-degree vision system. The 360 ​​Eye has a small camera on the top and sensors on the sides.

The robot in the FCC records appears to be designed to stay much closer to the ground than the 360 ​​Eye, which should allow the device to fit in low spaces, like under a sofa. As The Verge noted, this device differs from the more recently launched 360 Eye and 360 Heurist, which are both taller and thinner in order to navigate tight corners and furniture. The photos submitted also show a light ring, which could help the robot clean at night.

The FCC filings come as the Dyson 360 Eye, which the company revealed as its first robotic vacuum in 2014, is listed as “out of stock” on the company’s US website. Dyson launched the 360 ​​Eye Heurist robotic vacuum cleaner last year, but not in the US, so these FCC filings could point to Dyson’s second US attempt to take on Roomba.

Last month, Roomba maker iRobot announced the Roomba j7 + robot vacuum cleaner, which allows patrolling animal droppings.

As with any FCC filing, there is no guarantee that we will ever see this product in the United States, or not at all.
