The season five finale on Sunday, October 3 left its mark on the actor Damien lewis‘Showtime’s release Billion, while his character hid abroad to escape a legal situation. And, when season six arrives in January 2022, it will be his rival Mike Prince (Corey stoll) who will be the first billionaire.
Upon leaving the series, Lewis shared with The New York Times that his character’s story had been told in its entirety, adding, “It’s hard to continue to creatively tap… We know who he is.”
While Lewis’ run on Billion ended almost six months after his wife Helene mccrory‘s, he told the publication that had not been a factor in his decision. Speak Country alum, he “always assumed that would be enough”.
Still, part of season five was shot in London, where Lewis’s family is based. Billion creator and showrunner Brian Koppelman explained to Times that they “wouldn’t ask him to come to America [to film] in this situation.”
