WWE announced the new rosters for Monday evening gross and Friday night SmackDown will not go into effect until October 22, just one night after the Crown Jewel event scheduled for Thursday, October 21, 2021 in Saudi Arabia. Despite this, wrestlers from both brands showed up on both Draft shows, doing whatever they wanted.
Here’s one that makes sense: WWE Champion Big E, drafted for Raw, cut a promo on Drew McIntyre, who made it clear he wanted to challenge that title before he was drafted for Smack down. This week they got together again to settle the beef they started last week.
Somehow, they took a detour to a tag team match, where they teamed up to defeat The Dirty Dawgs, Dolph Ziggler, and Big Bob. This created a kind of respectful bond between them and E accepted McIntyre’s challenge while letting him know he would see him at Crown jewel.
Elsewhere, Goldberg has made a good comeback at Raw this week. He was there to call Lashley, who only agreed to face the legend at the next Saudi show if he agreed to a No Holds Barred stipulation. It happened, of course, and now it’s official.
The updated match card:
- Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar (Universal Championship)
- Big E (c) vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE Championship)
- Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks (SmackDown Women’s Championship)
- RK-Bro (c) vs. AJ Styles & Omos (Raw Team Championship)
- Goldberg vs. Bobby Lashley (no restrictions)
