HBO’s first music video Max the Suicide Squad Peacemaker released

In HBO Max coming soon Peacemaker following that of James Gunn The suicide squad, a deranged sociopath who considers himself a savior is mandated by the US government become the kind of superhero people are meant to admire. But if people knew what kind of person John Cena’s Peacekeeper really was, they wouldn’t want anything to do with him at all, mainly because of his thirst for blood, but also because he’s just some kind of jerk.

A few weeks from Peacemaker‘s on HBO Max, the studio just released the show’s first appropriate clip that puts Peacemaker back into the picture, and establishes the kind of dynamic he’s going to have with his various allies. In the new clip, Peacemaker goes to a restaurant ready to … action (in theory) in his full vigilante costume, although he’s only supposed to meet the people he works with for casual conversation. For Peacemaker, it’s perfectly normal for people to drive with cooling bald eagles in their back seats. But for Belle Reve director John Economos (Steve Agee), NSA agent Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) and Task Force X members Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) and Clemon Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), the bird alone is a clear sign that the peacemaker is a fool, and that being his colleague is going to be maddening.

Although you get a slight taste of Peacemakerthe sense of humor of the clip, it’s light in the plot of the series or any glimpse of the action, both of which will influence the success of the series – one of the first big episodic spinoffs of the DCEU – lands with the audience. Given Gunn’s involvement in Peacemaker and how effectively the character worked in The suicide squad, however, there’s a good chance it’s one of the more interesting new projects kicking off in the new year when Peacemaker arrives on HBO Max in January.
