A young girl from Arizona died around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday after playing inside a parked car at a family reunion and having electric windows rolled over her, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
Police say the girl, whose name and age have not been released, was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died.

Cops initially responded to reports of an accident in a western Phoenix neighborhood at 7:30 p.m., The Arizona Republic reported.
“It’s awful. It’s heartbreaking,” police spokesman Andy Williams told KSAZ. “Little kids can get into anything and it just takes them a moment to get into something they shouldn’t and it just takes that moment when tragedy can strike.”

Police say there is no sign of foul play at this time.
Authorities said it would be up to the Maricopa County medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of the girl’s death.

“People don’t understand the power that these windows are going up,” said Janette Fennell, president of the national nonprofit Kids and Cars. “He has between 30 and 40 pounds of force and it takes 22 pounds of force to break the windpipe.”
