Uber can now track your flight so a ride home is ready when you land

Uber is trying to make it easier to get home from the airport after your plane lands.

The company said on Wednesday that customers can now book a ride up to 30 days in advance. Travelers who choose the more expensive Uber Black or Uber Black SUV options can also put their flight information into the app, which will automatically adjust a reservation if your flight is early or late.

Uber said the drivers for these bookings will wait for you for up to 60 minutes at no additional cost. This means that you will have more time to pass through the airport and collect your luggage.

Some of the new options may help passengers avoid long wait times caused by a shortage of drivers during the coronavirus pandemic. And it can help Uber stand out from Lyft, at least among people who want a car ready as soon as their plane lands.

The airport booking option will appear in the Uber app under the ‘book’ tab starting Wednesday. The features are deployed to passengers at more than 20 airports across the United States, which are listed below.
